Short URL App is a SharePoint Framework (SPFx) app for SharePoint Online, with a Microsoft Teams app and a Power Automate connector, for Microsoft 365 only. It lets people create and use vanity and shortcut hyperlinks inside SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams, and use short links in Power Platform flows. Short URL App is developed and supported by APPS 365 LTD in London.
Too often and especially with large complex installations, the structure of a SharePoint site collection, or Team Channel can lead to enormously long hyperlinks, which makes for ugly and error prone hyperlinks. You are able to define which domain is used as the default within your SharePoint environment and each of these separate domains will also work for any ShortUrl created against the default instance. Thus, you can share any of the domains with your ShortUrl and they will work! With a free App Key, users can create up to 3 auto-generated short URLs for SharePoint Online content, which expire after 30 days. https://surl.link/autoshorturl https://surl.ms/autoshorturl https://officeurl.com/autoshorturl https://sharepointurl.com/autoshorturl Standard / Enterprise Licence (the free trial allows creation of 3 short URLs, which expire after 30 days) To enable your Short URL App to generate custom short URLs unique to your organisation, an App Key is required. The process to registering your Username/Subdomain is simple and fast (click here to register App Key). Once you have registered your Short URL App Key you will be able to activate and update the ‘ShortUrlAppKey’ List that comes as part of the Short URL App. If you are using Microsoft Teams this will be configured by adding your Tenant ID in admin. https://company.surl.link/customshorturl https://company.surl.ms/autoshorturl https://company.officeurl.com/autoshorturl https://company.sharepointurl.com/autoshorturl Ultimate Licence The Short URL App Ultimate licence provides your own custom domain with all of the Standard features, for larger tenants, with the option to host in your own Azure. https://yourdomain.link/shorturl A Short URL makes emailing the link, putting it into documents or even saying it over the phone much simpler and less error prone. Using Short URL App, a shortened hyperlink can be created to any page, list item, document and view within SharePoint Online, and also to any external URL. You can create short URLs directly from the SharePoint command bar and from the context menu of any list or library item. If a Short URL has already been created, you can instantly copy to the clipboard, email the link directly (the link will be opened in your email client). Short URLs are stored in a regular SharePoint List (‘ShortUrl’) that is located in each Site that the Short URL App is installed.
